Dr. Margaret Callen, O.D. is an optometric glaucoma specialist who grew up in Jefferson City, Missouri. She received her high school diploma in Louisiana and continued her education at Southeastern Louisiana University where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in biology with a minor in chemistry. Dr. Callen graduated with honors from the University of the Incarnate Word Rosenberg School of Optometry in San Antonio with her doctorate in optometry. During her education, Dr. Callen was privileged to work in both the private sector as well as in military settings to complete externships in medically-based optometry. She is also trained in specialized optometric care to include contact lenses, refractive surgery co-management, vision therapy, and has extensive training in the diagnosis and treatment of ocular diseases. Dr. Callen is a dedicated member of both the American Optometric Association and the Texas Optometric Association. She enjoys spending her free time exploring central Texas: enjoying good food and the great outdoors.
